How Hamilton Watches Became the Movie Brand

Hamilton watches have been Hollywood's best kept secret. This American brand has been in so many movies, and on the wrists of so many stars, it comes as a surprise that this watch brand isn't more readily recognized on the big screen. Hamilton is American by birth, but today is manufactured in Switzerland. The company was created in 1892 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. By 1893, Hamilton had produced their first pocket watch – the 936. In 1971, Hamilton became the third company to join what is today the great luxury group Swatch.

The very first film that Hamilton watches landed a starring role was in Frogman in 1961. Hamilton was caught on the wrist of Robert Wagner. Since then, this awesome watch brand has adorned the wrists of Elvis Presley, Michelle Pfeiffer, Robin Williams, Eddie Murphy, Keanu Reeves, and so many more. Hamilton's last appearance on the big screen was with Interstellar starring Matthew McConaughey, and was directed by Christopher Nolan.

A-listers give up the spotlight to the people behind the scenes that make these movies the successes that they are.
